Central PA’s Pool Leagues

Playing a successful “safe” or defensive shot can often make the difference between winning or losing. Many players fall into the trap of thinking that a “successful” safe shot is one in which the opponent does not have an easy chance at pocketing a ball on his next shot. Instead of merely shooting a safe shot that makes it difficult for your opponent to pocket a ball, look for safe shots that will make it difficult for your opponent to get a legal hit. If you can get “ball in hand”, it may make it easy to shoot that “trouble” ball and run out the rack without your opponent getting back to the table.
