Skill Levels

Last night reached a feverous pitch with some of you whining about skill levels. It is not possible to properly evaluate someone’s skill level based on watching them play one match. Let me repeat. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PROPERLY EVALUATE SOMEONES SKILL LEVEL BASED ON WATCHING THEM PLAY ONE MATCH. For those of you, who are slow….IT IS IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PROPERLY EVALUATE SOMEONES SKILL LEVEL BASED ON WATCHING THEM PLAY ONE MATCH. In much the way that a sub-par hitter can hit 3 for 4 in a baseball game, or a sub-par QB can throw 3 TDs in a game, it is possible ( and very likely) that ALL pool players will sometimes play better than they normally do. To say that some of you are acting very childish about your whining of skill levels….well that’s an insult to children. If you are going to whimper to me about someone on an opposing team being “under handicapped”, please be sure that you are armed with all of their scoresheets from their last few months for me to think your argument MIGHT have any credibility.
