Handicap Changes

Some players who played in the Invitational this past weekend had adjustments to their handicap based on how they played in the invitational and/or the singles tournament on Sunday. These changes are now reflected on the website. I’d like to explain real quick something about how the website works just so everyone can be sure that they are getting the most up to date information on any handicap changes. So here we go..

I’ll do two posts (one for Monday, one for Tuesday) towards the end of the business week (usually Friday afternoon) with the updated 8 ball standings which will include the team rosters and any handicap changes. When I do these posts, it is a way for subscribers to be notified that the new standings are now on the website. However, I will frequently make very minor adjustments to the standings between Friday afternoon and Monday evening to include an added / removed player, a spelling correction, or possibly even a correction on a players HC. These changes are minor and it is not necessary to notify everyone in the league with a post because a team removed a player from the roster or that a particular players handicap has changed by a half point. So although a new post isn’t done every time a minor change has been made, the minor change will still be reflected on the website in the “Monday Standings” or “Tuesday Standings”. It is not uncommon for a captain to notify me at 5:30 or 6:00 PM about someone they are adding to their roster who they would like to play that night. Therefore, the best practice for a team is to look at the website under “Monday Standings” or Tuesday Standings” just before the match begins to see if any changes to rosters or HCs have been made.
